Individual Counselling

At The Gilmour Group we work with individual clients in identifying specific areas they wish to improve in their lives and in the co-creation of strategies and tools to get them there. The process is completely de-mystified in that every step is clearly explained, co-authored and tracked in terms of its effectiveness. We are trained and experienced in working with individuals presenting issues such as:

  1. Depression and Anxiety around Relationship Breakups
  2. Relationship issues
  3. Family issues
  4. Self-esteem
  5. Life transitions
  6. Career transitions
“It can be such an enormous relief to share the thoughts that have become a true story in our heads and find out that there just may be other possibilities, that there just may be hope for a new story”.
Dianne Gilmour

As in every aspect of our work with clients, our focus is primarily on where he/she wants to be as opposed to spending a lot of time on where they have been and how that hasn’t worked out so well for them. We provide a safe, non-judgemental and respectful place to facilitate the process of setting realistic goals for our clients and pragmatic tools to help them move towards achieving them.

If you’re looking for help in understanding why you’re feeling the way you are and are looking for relief, counselling would be a great decision. Consider a few of the following:

– Do you want to experience more satisfaction in the relationships you are involved in?
– Are you interested in ending self-sabotaging behavior?
– Are you subconsciously denying yourself real intimacy with another?
– Do you consistently act in ways that prevent you from the possibility of a happy life?
– Are you currently going through a life crisis that involves a personal relationship, an issue with your career, death or an illness?
– Do you feel like you know what you want to achieve but are unable to get there?
– Do you feel like you are stuck in someone else’s life or in a life that you have no control over?

Individual counselling at Gilmour Group in Vancouver can help. For whatever reason you find that you want or need to make a change, consider counselling to be one of the safest places for you to be. Compassionate, knowledgeable counsellors are able to help you begin to unravel the mystery that is keeping you from achieving your goals.
