Dianne Gilmour, M.A.
Registered Clinical Counsellor

"I am constantly amazed by the courage of my clients.  That they invite me into the process of facing their challenges and seeking solutions truly enriches my life.  I am honoured to share the journey with them".

Meet Dianne

Dianne has many years of experience working with individuals, couples and families looking for more effective communication in their relationships.  A former school teacher, she has taught at virtually all grade levels and in a variety of subject areas.  Her path ultimately led to her work as a guidance counsellor in the public school system where her primary focus was working with at-risk youth and their families.  Her witnessing of the strength, courage and resilience of her students and their families instilled in her the desire to further her education in the counselling field.   In addition to her private practice, Dianne also recently worked with a non-profit agency for a number of years providing intensive clinical counselling mediation and support to families.  She supported them in recognizing and developing their strengths, facilitating the creation of solutions to the challenges and struggles that so many families face today.

Dianne’s special areas of interest and expertise are supporting couples as they face challenges in their relationship and providing pragmatic communication tools and strategies for families coping with parent-teen conflict.  Dianne is committed to on-going training and regularly attends workshops, seminars and conferences pertinent to her couples and relationship counselling practice.  She is married and lives in Vancouver with her husband and their two teen-age sons.
